Better Together Basketball: A Tool for Transformation
Impacting the lives of inner city youth through athletics is at the heart of Better Together Basketball. We recognize that sports alone do not transform lives, relationships do. That is why our program is centered around cultivating life-giving relationships between players, coaches who serve as mentors, and staff that extend beyond the sport season.
Better Together Basketball, originally named Bridge Basketball, began its first season in 2011, engaging approximately 30 kids from the North Omaha community. Today, Better Together Basketball has grown to upwards of 100 players, with 10 different teams ranging from Pre K to 8th grade, playing in leagues throughout the city at no cost to the players or families.
–’For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. – 1 Timothy 4:8′
