About Us

Abide is an inner city, non-profit organization with a dream, that one day, Omaha, Nebraska would have no inner city. Our mission is to transform the inner city, one neighborhood at a time. Abide provides a holistic approach that focuses on developing healthy neighborhoods through four main areas: community building, family support programs, housing and partnerships.

Abide: By the Numbers

1989: Ron and Twany Dotzler found Abide Network in North Omaha

1993: Renovation of the Abide facility at 3335 Fowler St. begins

1996: Completion of the Abide facility at 3335 Fowler St.

1999: Second community center established on 3126 Lake St.

2007: Neighborhood strategy begins

2009: Demolition and remodeling on the first Lighthouse begins

2010: Family Support Program Begins: Better Together Children’s Basketball Program

2011: Family Support Program Begins: Employee Development Program

2012: 10,000 inner-city residents impacted on a monthly basis

2013: Abide Network goes through rebranding and the name is shortened to Abide

2014: Abide celebrates 25 years in North Omaha

2016: Abide purchases The Better Together Campus
