BACK to SCHOOL
BLOCK pARTY

Join us to volunteer or donate backpacks and supplies for our back to school block party!
Each of the 3,000+ backpacks handed out to the community takes a volunteer to fill it, carry it and give it was with love. Join us on August 1 to be part of a night where neighbors come together on the Better Together Campus – and every child goes home with a backpack full of supplies, a fresh haircut and the confidence to walk into the first day of school feeling ready, seen and loved. This is what it looks like when a community shows up. We need you there!

Better Together Campus

You can fill a backpack!
It’s not just a backpack. When a child receives a backpack full of supplies, they’re receiving a message: you matter, you’re loved and you’re set up to succeed. You can be part of sending that message.
Pick up these supplies, fill a backpack, and drop it off in a donation box around town or on the Better Together Campus. Can’t make it to the party? Ship directly to us through our Amazon Wish List found below.
- 2 spiral bound notebooks
- 2 composition notebooks
- 1 box of colored pencils
- 1 box of No. 2 pencils
- 2 folders
- 1 box of crayons
- 1 pencil case
- 2 glue sticks
Take this list with you when you shop. Whether you fill one backpack or ten, every single one is a message to a child that says you are cared for, you’re a leader and you have a purpose in our community.
Shop the
Wish List
Don’t have time to shop in person? We’ve got you covered. Our Amazon Wish List includes backpacks, individual school supplies and pre-built supply kits – everything ships directly to Abide on the Better Together Campus, so you don’t even have to leave home to make a difference.
Prefer to give rather than shop? Our gift card fund lets you contribute toward supplies still needed closer to event day. Every dollar goes straight to filling backpack for children in North Omaha.

All About
Join us for dinner and a night of celebration! We will have guest speaker Damon West co-author of The Coffee Bean share with us. Dress code is business casual, black and white attire encouraged.
Watch last year’s recap to see what’s in store!
“All you see is smiles everywhere you look. And for families with school-aged children who’ve been wondering, ‘How am I going to fill this list?’ – they just get to be loved on and get to know there is a community of people who care about them.”
